Course Overview
This course will provide clinicians (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist, BCBA) with a general overview of Motivational Interviewing techniques, implementation strategies, as well as models of Motivational Interviewing will be embedded to facilitate a multimodal learning approach.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Name the two clinicians who developed Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • State the four components of the Spirit of MI and explain their importance within the MI framework.
  • Identify one research article associated with positive outcomes related to MI.
  • Outline OARS skills and how to incorporate these into their treatment plan.
