This session will explore the intersection of culture and clinical care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) who also experience mental health challenges. Attendees will gain practical insights into how cultural factors influence assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions, and how to integrate these considerations into everyday clinical practice.

Through case examples, discussion, and applied exercises, participants will learn strategies for delivering culturally responsive behavioral health services. The session will emphasize real-world approaches to supporting diverse populations while addressing the unique needs of individuals with I/DD and co-occurring mental illness.
